ACT Postpones Online Test Rollout and Instead Adds Three New Test Dates For The Fallย

ACT previously planned to administer an online at-home ACT in the late fall/early winter this year. However, due to increased social distancing requirements at the test centers and logistical issues they have decided to postpone their rollout of an online-ACT in favor of focusing on increasing seats for more in-person test options.
This move may have been influenced by the disastrous results the College Board had this past May in attempting to administer at-home online AP exams. Unfortunately, however, for students who needed the at-home test for COVID-related health reasons may find that in-person testing is their only option this fall. Fortunately, many schools are test-optional for the 2020-2021 application cycle.
ACT has also postponed its planned rollout of section retesting and online testing until 2021.
The ACT is adding three new test dates for the fall, making a total of 8 testing dates for the fall.
